DeSite SLG 78VF vibratory screener is our midsize portable vibratory screener Designed to be fed
Skid Steers
Bucket tractor
Mid size excavators
Compact loaders
Only on a DeSite screener will you find a Feed Deflection System that funnels material to the top of the screen deck to begin the screening process. Early on in designing the SLG 78, we recognized the need to control and direct the flow of material being screened. Forcing material to the top of the screen deck to begin the process allows for maximum production and maximum efficiency.
The feed deflector on the 78VF allows the operator to feed the screener faster and more aggressively. The feed deflector on the 78VF mounts into quick disconnect lugs that allow the feeder to tip forward allowing oversize material pass over the screen deck and into the overs pile. When screening very trashy material with lots of oversize stumps, big roots, and construction debris, the feeder can be completely removed turning the screener into a standard deck screen like all others.
Depending on whether you are screening in the spring, summer, fall, or winter, each season brings varying screening conditions. Spring, coming out of winter can prove to be the most challenging due to high moisture levels in your material.
That is why we have designed our SLG screeners with a tilting screen deck system. Material sitting in one spot on a vibrating screen deck bring moisture to the surface and becomes the bonding agent that makes material stick to the mesh and thus plugs your screen deck. It is important to keep wet material moving across the deck to reduce what we call mesh blinding.
DeSite SLG screeners can tilt from 45 degrees for high moisture materials, all the way back to 30 degrees when screening dry sand, gravels, and low moisture soils.
Another unique feature found only with a DeSite screener, is your ability to manipulate the deck slope during the screening process. Only DeSite builds their screen deck so rugged that you are able to make contact with your bucket and the screen deck to manipulate the degree of slope while feeding the screener.
Starting at the source you will find our heavy duty 25ft (10 gauge) electrical cord that connects to our watertight power box. Inside the power box you will find a bus bar and starting capacitor that stores the energy necessary to start the vibratory pack rotating. The vibratory pack will spin up the dual eccentric armature to 3600 rpm, supplying a centrifugal force of 560 ft/ lbs.
Once up to speed the vibratory pack transfers the vibration through the vibratory motor mounting plate, through the vertical tubes, and then across our crowned and side tensioned screen mesh. Our screen deck design has been engineered to withstand the harmonic vibration that is needed to keep material moving across the screen deck.
The SLG 78VF can be powered up with standard 120 volt land power as long as the distance from the power source is under 75ft and you are using a heavy duty 10 gauge electrical cord.
For moving the SLG 78 around onsite our Bucket Transport Lugs save time and the need for having pallet forks onsite.
Move the screener efficiently with your bucket.
Please allow up to 24 business hours for responses as we are in the height of our busy season. Duplicate emails, phone calls and texts are not required as reminders – we will do our best to get back to you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and for your interest in our products.
One person can access and easily remove the mesh clamp bolts on each side and middle of the screener. At the bottom of the screen deck we have laser cut the plate to hold the mesh in place until you are ready to remove it. After removing the mesh simply install the new mesh and reinstall and tighten the bolts on each side.
We offer a wide range of mesh that are quick and easily changed. The ability to install large and small high quality mesh makes DeSite SLG Screeners a time saver and money maker. We offer both square and elongated mesh pattern in a double lock crimp weave. Our double lock weave puts two crimps in each wire as they intersect, This creates a strong weave and a stronger, more stable mesh.
Our elongated pattern mesh is what we call a triple chute weave where a group of three wires intersect the main with wires. A space of four inches has full unobstructed opening before the next three wires intersect the mesh again. Our elongated pattern meshes are designed to handle higher moisture material when screening is more challenging. Hourly production are always considerably higher when elongated pattern mesh in in use.

Wood mulch is a light product that travels over the screen deck differently that a soil or aggregate product. It is recommended to run a bit bigger mesh. Often people will screen out the fines and mix it into the topsoil for slow release decomposition. It is a great way to recycle the wood fines.

Love my machine I’m in California it’s very portable I screen manure compost and topsoil since I’m in California, We always have carb checking to see if you have an updated motors so with this set up I have a Honda generator. It runs the vibrations, so Ino longer have to deal with carb, I can put it in my dump trailer move it to different jobs. I run the machine all by myself. Easy to set up and cheap to run. Love my machine.

BEST screener in the industry with the BEST support I’ve seen across all my equipment. Andy and Brad have been GREAT to work with and my equipment has been flawless. Everyone who see’s it is in awe at the build quality, the welds look like rolls of dimes, they’re gorgeous… You won’t regret buying ANY of Columbia’s products… I know I sure don’t!!!!

Using my 108 almost everyday. Making 1 inch minus soil fill blended with aged compost and mushroom soil. Screen works awesome and the material it makes sells itself.

Got a 108 it’s a great machine.

Andy did a fantastic job selling this very easy and great communication unloaded it screen 6 yards worked great much faster and cleaner product than my other name brand screener.

The Easter bunny dropped a big egg today for us !! This should definitely help the screening operation . Thank you for all the help Brad and Andy Columbia Equipment Sales.

I’m so glad I ordered the riser with my 78, I wouldn’t own one without it.

Trying out our DeSite 56″ screener for the first time. Can’t wait to put this to work on our huge compost pile!

I have the desite 78 and can do 30 to 35 yards an hour with my 3 yard loader . I have done hundreds and hundreds of yards of topsoil in the last 3 years with zero problems with it . Great working screener for small operators in my opinion.
Bill Stone
The screener is a “no joke” piece of equipment. Too bad folks can’t see one in person to see the quality before they decide to get one. The pictures and videos don’t show how well built it is. Thanks for the great service. Looking forward to trying it out this afternoon.

I wasn’t expecting delivery until next week. Had fun today sifting a pile of mixed debris. Made some nice topsoil. Also screened some DG. Beautiful job. So pleased with this machine I can’t tell you how much. Hope to get some video soon.

As with any equipment purchase, you always hope for the best. I have to say your screening machine worked better than I could have ever imagined. Its ease of operation was simply fantastic. The product it produced was actually better than we could have purchased from local suppliers. Continued success in 2016, Best regards.

I purchase a 78 inch screen last year from Woodbury Tractor, it has been one of the best pieces of equipment I have purchased, Thanks.

We did purchase one of your units through Larry Lang in 2014 and we are very pleased with it. We have shown it to several other cemeteries in the area as well.
